Easter Sunday morning at the property

So here are Dayton and Amara on Sunday morning at the property. Dayton got to find all the eggs that the Easter bunny left. We colored eggs on Saturday night... I'm sad I didn't get any pictures of that. But we have pictures of the egg hunt!

14... 15... 16... whew, we found ALL the hard boiled eggs that the Easter Bunny hid... inside... the trailer at the property that we won't be back to for a week or more... that would have been unpleasant! Ha Ha!!! Great job Dayton, the egg hunt was FUN!!!!

Easter... Saturday at the property

Well, I don't have much time to blog so I will try to be quick. Jerome is working on finalizing the planting of the palm tree, Dayton is playing football and Amara is taking a nap... OK... GO!!!
We had a very full weekend of many Easter activities.
Friday we went up to the property and spent the night. Saturday we had an Easter egg hunt for Dayton at the property.
Dayton woke me up at 5, he heard some noises and was scared... I explained it might be the Easter Bunny. That calmed him down, but he wanted to wait up the rest of the night and wait for the Easter Bunny.

Well here we have Amara in her bunny ears and bunny booties!!! Carey got them for Amara... thanks Carey, isn't she cute!?!?

AMAZING!!!

This will have to be quick because it's early in the AM and I need to go to work. Yesterday we received a phone call from the property saying that we had a pipe burst. Our hearts sank. They kept saying that they have beautiful pictures. We weren't sure if they were serious or not so we headed up last night to assess the damage. To our surprise, the damage was very little but the view was BEAUTIFUL!! We had an ice world up there, it was amazing! There was ice on everything and not just ice, but a think layer of ice! Then you will see in the pictures, there were perfectly round clear marble size ice everywhere, it was like it rained ice marbles and they were loose, you can pick them up, it was something I've never seen before. Amazing is the only word I can think of right now, it was awesome!!! I posted quite a few pics and no comments, just have fun with the view, it was amazing. The pictures aren't quite the same as being there, but you get the idea! Enjoy!

Weekend...

Friday we went to dinner with Carey, Jay and Brooke for Brooke's birthday... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOKE! I didn't bring my camera, so I don't have any pictures of that. (Carey if you email me a picture of the kids, I'll add it to the post). It was a fun time with good friends!

On Saturday, we went to the property and had a wonderful time!!! (Amara actually slept really well up there!!)

Weekend at the property

We had a wonderful snow-filled new year weekend at the property. We tried to go up earlier but our all wheel drive car got stuck at the property. We had about 2 1/2 feet!! Luckily, Grandma and Grandpa Buddy were watching the kids. We dropped off a few things, Jerome dug us out and we turned around and headed back home. We saw security on our way out and he promised that we would have a path by the time we wanted to come. Not only did they plow us a path to our place, they also plowed into our driveway so we could park!! So when we were up for the weekend, we had piles of snow, but we were able to get around. while we were there, it snowed about another 1/2 a foot, but it also melted a bit as well.

We brought in the new year with Jerome's famous margarita's and a little mini-party at the property. We also had a little snafu with the water. We were just fine, the water was turned off and all, but the hose going from the facet to the trailer froze, so we spent some of the night trying to thaw out the hose... we finally put it in the bathtub and boiled water and basically soaked it in warm water until the ice melted. This is what stories are made of... right? :o)

We played low key for the next couple of days and ventured out on Saturday. We've been on the hunt to get Dayton fully decked out with snow gear... we finally found all his clothing before the weekend, the only thing missing was a sled. WE FOUND IT!!! We got a sled so on Sunday we went sledding before we went home.
